Ensor's door

theatre, Serge Noyelle

In a few words...

A door opens and closes. Men dressed in black enter and exit. There is a secret, a strangeness, a curiosity in this act. Who are these figures? What lies behind this door?

Like all the others, it holds a secret.

Then this door will open again and ceremonial figures, processions, visions sometimes tragic, sometimes dreamlike, or funny: always pictorial, will parade by indefinitely.

It is therefore in homage to James Ensor, who represents a field of aesthetic freedom and the opportunity to bring together 9 artists, dancers, actors, opera singer and musician.

In the void left by a news cycle where images accelerate, loop endlessly on screens, rehashing the obsession with accumulation: a strange gamble. That of carrying the viewer into a pictorial Elsewhere, a physical grasp of space, of time unfolding, where the eye follows the painter's gesture, his hand, his perception of reality, becomes master of the game, summons the voice, the inner narrative, the lyrical song, the choreographed movement, so that meaning and form challenge each other.
